New wine is poured into fresh wineskins.

새 포도주는 새 부대에 담아야 한다.

담아야 한다.

is poured into

 

 

담다라는 표현은 수동태가 표현되어

is poured into가 되었습니다.

 

우리의 경우, 포도주가 일상화되지는 않았기에

이 표현이 좀 낯설 수 있습니다.

 

그리고 와인을 담는 부대를 wineskins라고 했는데

아마도 이 것이 동물의 가죽으로 만든 부대였던 거 같습니다.

 

그리고 새 것의 의미로 처음에는 new를

다음 번에는 fresh를 사용했는데,

동일한 단어를 반복하는 것을 피하려는

의도가 있다고 할 수 있겠습니다.

MK 2:18-22


The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast.
People came to Jesus and objected,
“Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast,
but your disciples do not fast?”
Jesus answered them,
“Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?
As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them,
and then they will fast on that day.
No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak.
If he does, its fullness pulls away,
the new from the old, and the tear gets worse.
Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins,
and both the wine and the skins are ruined.
Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.”
