[ 오페라 라보엠 ] 그대의 찬 손 (Che Gelida Manina) - 푸치니 작곡

안녕하세요!

 

오늘은 최근에 제가 많이 듣고 있는 오페라 라보엠 중 가장 유명한 아리아 중의 하나로, 시인 로돌포가 부르는 그대의 찬 손(Che Gelida Manina)입니다. 아마도 음악을 좋아하시는 분들은 한 번쯤은 들어보신 곡이 아닐까 생각됩니다.

 

그런데 이 아리아의 가사가 정말 예술인 거 같습니다. 조금은 오래됐지만 루치아노 파바로티가 부른 곡이 있어 가져와 봤습니다.

 

오페라를 제대로 즐기려면 많은 시간을 투자해야 합니다. 줄거리부터 시작해서 배우들이 부르는 노래의 가사를 알아야 그 맛을 제대로 느낄 수 있습니다. 그리고 그 가사와 함께 선율이 나의 것이 되었을 때, 비로소 그 맛을 느끼지 시작하는 것 같습니다. 그야말로 아는 만큼 들리고 또 보입니다. 

 

그래서 이 노래를 제대로 배워볼 수 있는 동영상도 있어 소개하고자 합니다.

But sometimes my strong-box 그렇지만, 나의 금고 속
is robbed of all its jewels 보석들은 도둑들이 훔쳐가는데,
by two thieves: a pair of pretty eyes.  그건 바로 당신의 아름다운 두 눈이에요.
They came in now with you 그것들은 당신과 함께 와서는
and all my lovely dreams, 나의 모든 사랑하는 꿈,
my dreams of the past, 어제의 나의 꿈들을
were soon stolen away. 순간 훔쳐가 버리고 맙니다.
But the theft doesn't upset me, 그렇지만 저는 도둑이 밉지 않아요,
since the empty place was filled 왜냐하면 그 텅 빈 곳이
with hope. 희망으로 가득 찼기 때문입니다.

Now that you know me, 자 이제 저를 알았으니
it's your turn to speak. 당신이 말할 차례입니다.
